The NAA Foundation encourages collaboration between newspapers and schools to support student-produced media. We work with scholastic media associations nationwide to provide training and resources, with an emphasis on enhancing appreciation of the First Amendment.
The NAA Foundation brings together the best minds in youth readership at the Young Reader Conference. This event gives NIE and YEA professionals the opportunity to learn, share and network through interactive instructional sessions, inspiring keynote addresses, show-and-tell presentations and informative discussions. The Young Reader Conference provides what you need to navigate and transform your NIE and youth content programs during this time of change.
We offer two programs annually. Young Reader Awards recognize, showcase and disseminate new and noteworthy ideas in NIE and YEA programs. Youth Content Awards honor efforts by student journalists who work with their local newspapers to produce content for teens and children.
