For this program, we seek teachers, curriculum specialists, media center coordinators, school librarians and other educational professionals who are interested in developing and delivering presentations on their newspaper instructional practices for local, regional and national education gatherings.
Fellowships to cover workshop or conference-related expenses, including travel, are available for up to 10 U.S. educators.
Those with a desire to demonstrate and share with other education professionals should submit a letter of interest that includes: the intended educational audience/event; the event proposal submission deadline; the subject/grade level; a session or workshop title; and a brief session/workshop description, including details about how newspapers are used for instruction. Letters will be accepted and eligible until Oct. 31, 2011.
Our goal is for recipients to represent a range of grade levels, disciplines and regions and for sessions or workshops to be presented to local, state, regional or national audiences.
