NAA FOUNDATION PRESENTS YOUNG READER AWARDS

Arlington, Va. – The Newspaper Association of America Foundation announced the winners of its Young Reader Awards today, recognizing the newest and most noteworthy ideas in Newspaper In Education (NIE) and Youth Editorial Alliance (YEA) programs across the country. Winners are asked to participate in the NAA Foundation’s Young Reader Conference, scheduled May 14-15 in Arlington, Va.

“The recipients of this year’s Young Reader Awards were chosen for their use of innovative strategies that help raise community and brand awareness, cross-departmental cooperation and a multifaceted approach to using news as a teaching tool,” said Margaret Vassilikos, senior vice president and treasurer of the NAA Foundation. “Their efforts increase readership and youth engagement via a variety of platforms, helping young people develop a positive newspaper habit that will reap benefits now and in the future.”
